Unreal Engine Cinematics

A personal exploration into real-time storytelling using Unreal Engine — blending my experience in VFX with game engine workflows to create cinematic moments from concept to render.

The Rescue (2025)

In this latest piece, I focused on leveraging Niagara to drive the cinematic tone — using real-time particle systems and volumes to craft dramatic atmosphere. Terrain was modeled from scratch, and Mixamo characters helped populate the environment. Niagara’s efficiency for creating cinematic smoke, fire, and interactive FX impressed me deeply. This project marks my most advanced Unreal-only workflow to date.

WWI Air Battle (2024)

This sequence allowed me to dive into camera storytelling while combining early Niagara FX with a terrain pipeline from Gaea into Unreal. Dogfights, explosions, and dynamic flyovers were choreographed to showcase movement, pacing, and editing possibilities inside the Sequencer.

Knights Entering the Ruin Castle (2024)

My first full cinematic built entirely inside Unreal Engine. This trailer was a learning ground — understanding the Sequencer, asset management, and lighting systems. The goal was to create a mood-heavy medieval scene using only real-time tools from concept to render.
